About the Company

WrumerSound specializes in car accessories, specifically a device named Wrumer that enhances the auditory experience of driving. By connecting to a car's OBD2 port, Wrumer collects real-time RPM data and plays simulated engine sounds through the vehicle's speakers. This unique product caters to car enthusiasts and those who enjoy the auditory thrill of powerful engines.

Jure, the founder, handles all aspects of the business, from development to marketing, showing the company's solopreneur nature. Despite being a small operation, WrumerSound has seen impressive growth and popularity since its inception.

WrumerSound operates primarily through an e-commerce platform, with its products available on their website. The company's success is driven by innovative marketing strategies, particularly on social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook.

Idea Behind Company

Jure's passion for software development started at a young age. He began coding at 12 and gained professional experience working for startups and big-tech companies. The idea for WrumerSound emerged from a personal experience when he bought a used car and used an OBD2 diagnostics device. Realizing the potential to create realistic engine sounds using this data, he decided to develop an app and device to enhance the driving experience.

His previous ventures didn't succeed, but the lessons learned, especially about the importance of marketing, were crucial. Developing a Shopify store for an e-commerce brand highlighted the significant impact of effective marketing, leading Jure to integrate marketing strategies from the start with WrumerSound.

Recognizing the importance of marketing, Jure focused on creating a market-ready product and strategized its promotion to ensure its success, contrasting his previous ventures where he had underestimated marketing's role.

Creating the Company

The initial development of Wrumer involved creating a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) to validate the market. Wrumer consists of an off-the-shelf device and an accompanying app. Jure sourced the device from Alibaba, rebranded it manually, and designed custom packaging and user guides.

The most challenging aspect was developing the app, especially integrating the audio engine to render realistic engine sounds. Jure used React Native for app development and FMOD, a sound effects library, for the audio component. The online store was built on Shopify, leveraging Jure's prior experience.

Initial efforts were labor-intensive, from rebranding devices manually to designing packaging. These steps, though unconventional, were essential in the early stages to keep costs low and bring the product to market quickly.

Launching the Business

The initial launch of WrumerSound faced challenges, with minimal marketing efforts leading to few sales. Posting on social media platforms generated interest but did not convert to sales immediately. However, targeted Facebook ads and posts in relevant groups helped achieve the first sales.

A breakthrough occurred with a viral TikTok video and collaboration with car content creators. These efforts significantly boosted visibility and sales, helping WrumerSound sell out its first batch of 100 units. Subsequent orders for larger quantities and custom packaging were placed to meet growing demand.

Collaborating with car magazines and content creators was pivotal, leading to increased exposure and sales. Viral content on platforms like TikTok played a crucial role in the company's early success and continued growth.

Earnings

WrumerSound's primary marketing strategy revolves around short-form content on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. Several videos have gone viral, driving significant traffic and sales. Collaborations with YouTubers and an affiliate program have also contributed to the company's revenue.

The company generates approximately $35,000 per month in revenue, with plans to expand by introducing new products and features. Future initiatives include translating top-performing videos for different markets and revisiting paid advertising to enhance profitability.

Jure emphasizes the importance of marketing, perseverance, and willingness to step out of one's comfort zone as key lessons from his entrepreneurial journey. WrumerSound's success story highlights the potential of innovative products combined with strategic marketing efforts.
