Enchanted Coaching
About the Company
Enchanted Coaching was founded by Lulu, a princess performer in Australia, who utilized her training to create an ADHD coaching business. Aimed at young children, the company’s unique approach involved using beloved characters to engage children in discussions about their ADHD challenges. Lulu’s background in law, criminology, and social skills education informed her methods, which focused on understanding and managing ADHD.
The business was notable for its innovative use of fantasy and storytelling to make ADHD coaching more approachable and effective for children. Lulu's expertise in character performance added a magical element to the coaching sessions, making them both educational and enjoyable for kids.
Idea Behind Company
The idea for Enchanted Coaching arose from Lulu’s observations during her princess performances, where she noticed increased engagement and communication from neurodivergent children. This, combined with her experience in teaching social skills through role-playing games, highlighted the potential of using characters to help children with ADHD.
Lulu aimed to address the lack of communication skills and management strategies in adolescents with ADHD. She believed that by teaching children to articulate their needs and adapt their management strategies, they could better navigate their ADHD into adulthood, improving self-esteem and overall well-being.
Creating the Company
Lulu’s journey involved extensive research and collaboration with other ADHD coaches, psychiatrists, social workers, and parents. She developed a series of activities and concepts to bridge communication gaps between children and their caregivers. Partnering with Australian author Pam Blashki, Lulu crafted strategies around the book "Fergusson the Wombat," creating a series of episodes for her YouTube channel.
The process included rigorous testing and feedback from parents and the ADHD community. Lulu’s criminology and law studies, focusing on moral development through play, helped her design engaging and effective content. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, leading to the production of additional episodes.
Launching the Business
Launching Enchanted Coaching involved significant effort in educating the community about ADHD coaching. Lulu’s business strategy emphasized empowering parents to support their children rather than solely managing their symptoms. This approach aimed to equip children with the skills to articulate their needs and find solutions independently.
The business naturally grew from Lulu’s existing work as a princess performer. However, a major challenge was combating misinformation and fear-mongering about ADHD management, particularly regarding medication and unregulated treatments. Enchanted Coaching focused on providing accurate information and practical strategies for parents and children.
Earnings
Enchanted Coaching initially saw success, with a monthly revenue of $400. Lulu’s dedication to producing valuable materials and addressing parental concerns helped attract and retain customers. The business’s goal was always to help as many children as possible, which drove its continued development and expansion of resources.
Lulu planned to broaden the range of characters and themes offered in her coaching sessions based on feedback. Despite the business's closure in 2024, Lulu's work made a meaningful impact on the ADHD community, providing foundational skills and support for many children and their families.
