Earth's Creation
About the Company
EC Nutrition, founded by Donald Passwaters, specializes in nutraceuticals for private label and contract manufacturing. The company owns several brands, including Earth's Creation, EC Sports, and Herbacure. Their unique products, such as OptiNOs and Brain Boost, target muscle building and brain health, respectively. Initially without any infrastructure, the company now boasts a 100,000-square-foot facility and advanced manufacturing equipment.
Idea Behind Company
Donald’s journey began in a poor neighborhood in Little Havana, gaining experience at FEDCO from the age of 17. Despite being laid off in his forties, his acquired skills and knowledge helped him start EC Nutrition. Initially, the company faced challenges, including a partner embezzling $100,000. A pivotal moment came when an ad at a health show in Dubai led to significant sales, enabling expansion and acquisition of Herbacure.
Creating the Company
EC Nutrition started as a supplement distributor, outsourcing manufacturing. Acquiring Herbacure provided essential equipment and branding, allowing in-house production of basic items like vitamin C. The brand Earth's Creation emerged from Donald and his wife’s brainstorming. The company overcame initial challenges by maintaining relationships with early clients and adhering to strict SOPs and FDA inspections, ensuring high-quality standards.
Launching the Business
Initially focusing on South Florida and South America, EC Nutrition used strategic borrowing and collaborated with the US Commerce Office to navigate imports. Donald's son created the company’s first website in 2014, boosting digital marketing efforts through Google Ads and SEO. The website attracted international customers, enhancing the company’s reach and establishing a strong online presence.
Earnings
Today, EC Nutrition employs over 50 people and continues to invest in advanced machinery and laboratory equipment for quality control. The company has seen a 400% growth in revenue over six years and anticipates another 400% increase in the next five years. Future plans include expanding into new markets like Canada, Saudi Arabia, and India, and launching new products targeting brain health and sports nutrition.
