Conversion Perk
About the Company
Conversion Perk, founded by Devjeet Singh in 2018, is a digital marketing agency based in Purnea, Bihar. The company started with an initial investment of ₹2.5L (approximately $3,500) and has grown to generate significant monthly revenue. Conversion Perk specializes in PPC management and is rated among the top 3-4 PPC agencies in India by several third-party websites.
The agency has established partnerships with leading industry names, including Google, Amazon, Microsoft Ads, Klaviyo, Semrush, and Hubspot. Conversion Perk’s success is attributed to its dedication, hard work, and commitment to providing unparalleled service in the digital landscape.
Idea Behind Company
The idea for Conversion Perk stemmed from Singh’s experience during the Great Recession of 2008-09, which forced him to pivot from traditional technology fields to digital marketing. Encouraged by college seniors, Singh explored digital marketing during his industrial training and found a passion for SEO and other aspects of the field.
His career in digital marketing saw him climb the ranks in various agencies, where he observed a gap: most agencies were not focused on digital marketing. This realization drove Singh to create an agency where digital marketing was the primary focus, leading to the birth of Conversion Perk.
Creating the Company
Starting Conversion Perk was a challenge for Singh, who had limited savings and no initial clients. He invested half of his savings into the business and began with a small office and a team of entry-level employees. Singh was deeply involved in all aspects of the work to ensure client satisfaction.
To gain initial clients, Singh leveraged his network on LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook, offering free services to build trust and demonstrate capabilities. He also used Upwork to secure early projects and build a portfolio. The company’s early growth was fueled by referrals and Singh’s hands-on approach in developing the business’s online presence.
Launching the Business
The launch of Conversion Perk involved significant outreach and negotiation with potential clients. Singh offered complimentary services to small business owners and used Upwork to gain traction. Securing a few key clients allowed the company to cover essential overheads and hire more staff.
Building a website using his coding skills, Singh faced challenges in hiring seasoned professionals but managed to build a dedicated team through persistent dialogue and showcasing the company’s growing portfolio. The company’s focus on understanding the audience and providing value has been crucial in attracting and retaining customers.
Earnings
Conversion Perk has been profitable from day one, with a commendable net margin of about 15% post expenses and taxes. The company’s customer acquisition channels are diverse, with 30% coming from Upwork, 30% from the website, and 40% through client referrals. The website’s high conversion rate reflects the trust and value the company offers.
Marketing expenses are minimal, relying heavily on organic rankings and client feedback. The company maintains ethical business practices, refusing to promote gambling websites despite lucrative offers. Looking ahead, Conversion Perk aims to expand its organic reach and optimize the client onboarding process while initiating community-based digital literacy programs.
