About The Company

Intelogos, founded in August 2022, is based in New York, NY. It specializes in software designed to enhance employee wellbeing, recognition, and performance management. The platform utilizes AI to collect detailed performance data, offering suggestions to help teams improve their effectiveness.

The company's approach is to address the difficulties businesses face in understanding their teams and providing effective feedback. By automating data collection and analysis, Intelogos aims to streamline performance management processes. This ensures that businesses can focus on growth while maintaining high employee satisfaction and productivity.

Currently, Intelogos generates nearly $100,000 in monthly revenue and operates with a team of six employees. The team works entirely remotely, spanning different continents. This global and remote working model allows Intelogos to leverage diverse talents while keeping operational costs low.

Idea Behind Company

Before founding Intelogos, Vasily Malyshev was at the helm of Messapps, a New York-based software development agency. Leading a semi-remote and later fully remote team, he encountered significant challenges such as staff turnover, varying work quality, and the complexities of giving effective feedback. These experiences highlighted the need for a better performance management system.

Conversations with leaders from various industries, including an online furniture store and an East Coast US bank, revealed a common struggle with gathering comprehensive employee feedback. Traditional performance management systems were often inadequate, relying on infrequent reviews and subjective metrics. These insights confirmed the need for a more effective solution.

Combining his experience at Messapps with his legal education from New York Law School, Vasily was inspired to create Intelogos. The goal was to develop an automated people analytics and performance management system that could empower both companies and employees. This solution aimed to address the pain points of remote work and improve overall team performance.

Creating the Company

The initial prototype of Intelogos was developed using Google Sheets. APIs were set up to pull information from various third-party sources, which was then processed with formulas to generate useful data for team performance analysis. This early version demonstrated the feasibility of the concept and provided valuable insights into the type of data that would be most beneficial.

Feedback from other managers and executives helped refine the prototype. Vasily and his team reached out to acquaintances, friends, and random individuals on the Internet to gather input. While some statistics were useful, others needed adjustments. This iterative feedback process was crucial in shaping the first BETA version of the product.

Vasily assembled a remote team, funding initial salaries from the sale of his previous company. The first MVP, however, had a confusing interface filled with numbers. Recognizing the need for a more user-friendly design, the team focused on enhancing the visual presentation of data. This design upgrade was the last major change before Intelogos' limited public launch.

Launching the Business

The launch of Intelogos involved careful planning and testing to ensure genuine interest in the product. A waitlist sign-up strategy was employed, allowing the team to filter potential beta testers and gauge market demand. This approach helped refine the product offering based on early feedback.

To create buzz and attract users, Intelogos placed ads on various startup and directory sites like Product Hunt and Beta List. This strategy proved effective in reaching the target audience. Collecting contact information for decision-makers within the specific market allowed for targeted outreach, facilitating direct engagement with potential users.

The first customer was secured through a combination of outreach efforts and waitlist sign-ups. Direct conversations with potential users helped showcase the value of Intelogos and address their specific needs. The transition from a free trial model to a subscription-based approach was a carefully considered process, balancing user value with sustainable revenue.

Earnings

Intelogos experienced significant success following its launch on Product Hunt, where it quickly rose to the top 5 startups of the day. This exposure led to hundreds of new leads, many of which were highly aligned with the target market. The company was also featured in several newsletters catering to SaaS and AI products, increasing its visibility among decision-makers.

The heightened interest from Product Hunt caught the attention of two venture funds. While the first deemed Intelogos too early for investment, the second saw its potential and invested $500,000. This substantial funding not only bolstered the company's financial standing but also opened doors to valuable partnerships and strategic guidance.

Today, Intelogos continues to learn from user feedback and strives to reduce operational costs, particularly server expenses. The company is developing new features and has revamped its product architecture to be more modular. This allows for flexible pricing plans and the ability to work on different feature sets independently, ensuring continued growth and value delivery.
